Joyce Layman
Joyce Layman is a mindset and strategic visibility expert who has spent nearly two decades helping people understand what gets in the way of what they want and what to do about it.
Her work sits at the intersection of human behavior, business, and life. Joyce takes the neuroscience behind why we get stuck, translates it into Layman’s terms, and connects it to the everyday decisions that shape confidence, visibility, relationships, and opportunities. The result is practical, sometimes funny, and designed for real life rather than perfect conditions.
She is the author of Just Another Leap, which explores why knowing what to do and actually doing it are two very different things, and Your Connecting Advantage, which focuses on personal branding, networking, and the relationships that can change the trajectory of a career or business.
Joyce began facilitating personal development and performance programs, including curriculum developed by The Pacific Institute, in 2006 before launching her own business in 2008. Since then, she has spoken for corporate teams, entrepreneurs, and professional associations on national stages, including TEDxUMKC, and has spent years watching the same thing play out in very different rooms: information alone rarely changes what people do.
Nearly two decades into this work, Joyce remains fascinated by what makes people move: the thought that changes a decision, the connection that opens a door, or the 1% shift that sends things in a completely different direction.
